A 48-year-old driver was arrested on Tuesday morning on suspicion of drink driving after hitting a cyclist in Paphos.
At around 8.45am, a 48-year-old woman was driving on Posidonos avenue towards Kato Paphos when, under conditions that are being investigated, she hit a 52-year-old cyclist.
The injured woman was cycling along the coastal pathway on the left hand side of the road.
She was transferred via ambulance to a private clinic, where she was diagnosed with a vertebral fracture and was kept for treatment.
The driver underwent an alcohol test with a final indication of 124μg instead of the maximum permitted limit of 22μg, the news agency reported.
